Educators for Equity was founded by Nandi Taylor and Rosie Teverow. They met at a Freedom Fighters rally at the Capitol in early June of 2020, and were motivated to start a Black Students Matter march. The march occurred on Juneteenth and they've been hard at work since then.

This is a fully volunteer-run organization. We work to address our goals, which were the demands presented at the march, and push for change in education from local governments and boards. We also raise money for several funds, including one for scholarships (the first competition we hosted was with Wahupa Upward Bound in San Diego) and one for teacher PPE. We're ready and willing to fund other causes that we feel align with our mission.

We are also always looking to expand our team, so please sign up to volunteer if you're interested!
