PTO CONNECTIONS

​We connect with the PTO/PTA at your school to set up a meeting with parents and teachers - and, at middle and high schools, students. This will be a time when we can collaborate with the greatest number of community members.

HOW DOES YOUR DISTRICT RUN ITS SCHOOLS?

Once we have everyone together, we will explore your local board of education, and dive into how education policies are made at a local level. We'll look at who the key players are, what they do, and how to hear their own voices. This will include why and how to attend policy hearings, monthly public meetings, and anything else.

HOW TO ADVOCATE

Now we can start exploring how to actively advocate! We will use your choice of our goals for our first involvements. Students, teachers, and families will be able to use their own voices to speak their truths and demand systemic change.

CREATE YOUR CAMPAIGN

You've got the hang of it - time to try it on your own. What are issues immediately relevant to your school community? How can we work together to effect change around that?
